My regular travel area

We frequently travel to buy!

We are in the Kingston, Ontario, Canada area, but regularly travel within a fairly large radius to view worthwhile properties. (See map). Arrangements can be made for travel outside this range for the right material.

If you don't own it, but know where it is,
I will pay finders' fees
for introductions that result in purchases.

Help us help you!

In order to give you any meaningful information about potential value, or even our desire to travel to view a lot, we need some information too! Frequently, we hear "I have a book of old stamps... what's it worth?" sorry, but there is no way we can answer that question without information!

The first thing we need is your location! We can't offer any advice without that!

For stamp collections, we need to know:

  1. how many volumes in the collection?
  2. are some volumes devoted to specific countries, or are they worldwide albums?
  3. do the albums have brand names? (i.e. Harris Statesman, Scott International, Minkus Global etc.)
  4. are the stamps generally used or unused (mint) -- is there a split? i.e. early used, later unused?
  5. can you offer a good general description of the collection?
  6. what is the general condition? (If there is any mold, water damage, humidity damage, rodent damage or musty smell, the odds are that the collection is worthless. Collectors are picky people. You may find a buyer, but it won't be us.)

For covers and postcards, we need to know:

  1. do you know the approximate number of items?
  2. approximately how many boxes and size of boxes (or total weight)?
  3. when was it accumulated or collected? (for example 1920s-1950s or 1970s-1980s? Check the postmarks!)
  4. country of origin, or if it is from all over the world, what areas are represented? (Europe, Africa, Asia etc)
  5. if it is a business correspondence, are they mostly long business size envelopes, or smaller personal size envelopes?
  6. do the envelopes or cards have stamps on them or postage meter imprints?
  7. what is the general condition? (If there is any mold, water damage, humidity damage, rodent damage or musty smell, the odds are that the collection is worthless. Collectors are picky people. You may find a buyer, but it won't be us.)

Please feel free to email about anything you have for sale that might be worthwhile.
